Lyla's First Week at Home

We brought Lyla home 2 days after she was born on Thursday, February 4th. The car ride from Roseville to Carmichael seemed like an eternity. Brett was driving slower than ever and we were so anxious to get home. In the past week, we have been overjoyed with the amount of visitors and their gracious gifts and meals. Lyla already has so many special people in her life. Everything is going very well at home. She is eating really well (and hopefully packing on the pounds). She is such a good baby. Brett and I could stare at her for hours. She is absolutely beautiful. We went on our first walk when she was 6 days old. She seemed to really like it. It was really nice for Brett and I to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. I am recovering exceptionally well from my surgery. I am sore, but not in pain. I am moving about almost normally. It's easy not to focus on what my body went through when I have such a beautiful baby in front of me. Brett has been off this week and he will return to work on Monday. I am a little nervous about taking care of her on my own during the day. I am sure I will get used to it real quick. We are beaming with happiness from this wonderful life that we created.

Lyla Marie Faruzzi is here!!!

Brett and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our baby girl, Lyla Marie Faruzzi. She was born on Tues., February 2, 2010 at 5:15 AM via C-section. She was born 3 weeks before expected. Her weight at birth was 5 lbs 11 ounces and she was 19 1/2 inches long. She is as cute as can be and we are so proud. We love her so much!

Baby Nursery

We have been working very hard for the past month on Lyla's nursery. It has been a lot of fun putting it all together. I feel so lucky that I have been off track this month to really dedicate a lot of time to it. My mom has been such an amazing helper. We have loved every minute of it! Now all we need is the baby:)

Baby Shower #3 January 23, 2010

My 3rd baby shower was with all of my friends given to me from my best friend Julia. Several of my friends, Julia, Carla, Sharon, Molly, Lauren, Abby, and Katie, contributed to making this shower absolutely amazing!! I was blown away by how beautiful this shower was. I felt so loved and am very excited for all of my friends to meet baby Lyla.

Baby Shower #2 January 16, 2010

Our second baby shower was down in Turlock given to us from my mother in law, Becky. Brett's family and our Turlock friends joined us to celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Lyla. This shower was co-ed and a ton of fun. Becky did such a wonderful job giving us this shower. We are so grateful for everyone who shared in this experience with us.

Baby Shower #1 January 10, 2010

January has been a busy month of baby showers and preparation for Lyla's arrival. My first baby shower was given to me from my sister in laws, Mika and Tana, and my mom. My family and co-worker friends were there to celebrate with Lyla and I. It was a beautiful shower and I feel so blessed to have such amazing family and friends in my life.
